These kids keep growing! I made Deja 2 pairs of pants and 2 nighties a couple of months ago and she immediately had a growth spurt. So the pants look like flood pants now. The nighties are still ok, but she’s growing out of the rest of her clothes. So I’ve got to get back into the sewing room and put down the knitting for a while. I need to draw up a new pants pattern for her, and if I make something for Deja, I’ll have to make something for Vaughan, too.
Here’s where my pattern design classes come in handy. I don’t have to go to the store and buy a pattern. I can measure the kids and make custom pants just the right size. While I’m at it, I might as well make some shirts for Deja. Her wrists and belly are sticking too far out of her shirts now. I love that little toddler belly.
I think I’m going to make the pants too long on purpose, then make some pintucks on the inside to make them the right length. Then when they sprout, take out the pintuck stitches and voila! Pants that grow with them! No more flood pants.
