About three quarters done. I’m working on the yoke and I’m about to start working in rows instead of working in the round to make the placket in the front. Another sweater that is going way faster than I thought it would. Maybe I’m a faster knitter than I thought.
I used to prefer crochet over knitting because my projects always turned out right and because I could finish things so much faster when I’m crocheting. I found out that the reason my knitting was a little wonky sometimes was because I was knitting combination and I thought I was knitting continental. So every time I knit in the round, my stitches were twisted. And when I tried to knit a clapotis, my increases were weird. I gave up and put down the needles for quite a while.
I learned how to knit continental from a book and it wasn’t that different from combination, but now the patterns come out right.
Knitting is still much slower than crochet for me, but I’m finding that I’m enjoying the process more. It’s not really about the speed. I find it really relaxing.
On the needles:
Vaughans sweater for a little longer
Elvish hat from The Knitting Siren
And I’m thinking of trying to knit a pair of socks for the first time ever. I haven’t decided which ones yet.
