dejas leggings pantsThis won’t work for long as Deja gets taller. But right now the pattern pieces fit perfectly three times on one of Chris’ XL long-sleeved shirts. The red stripe was across the chest of the shirt, and the purple waist bands were parts of a purple t-shirt of Chris’.

So I fit the leggings pattern fit twice on the body of the shirt, one right way up and the other upside down. For the third one I used the sleeves. I cut them off and then lay them out with the right sides together with the cuffs matched up. If you put the bottom edge of the pattern even with the (already hemmed) cuffs, no need to hem those cuffs later! (I hate hemming!) I did the same with the bottom edges of the shirt.

I made these in two hours one morning. Only one of the pairs of leggings were cut out when I started that day, so it was a pretty quick project.
