I never thought I could do it, but was inspired to try when I saw so many mitten patterns on ravelry.  They were so cute!

First I knit someone elses pattern, to make sure I know how to knit a mitten the right way (I gave those ones to my sisters for xmas). Then I got out the graph paper to make my own patterns.

I’m halfway done my first sample mitten. And it will be a sample, because I only have enough yarn for one mitten!

I made three pairs of mittens as christmas gifts and neglected to take any pictures of them before giving them away. So I’m using pictures that the recipients took. These are the exact same size, I promise. I think my dad took this picture and I’m not sure why one looks like a totally different size..  These are the actual herringbone mitten pattern, with different cuffs.  I guess I’m incapable of doing this pattern without changing just a teeny bit. I used pink and grey caron simply soft yarn.
