I started this on Friday, I think. I was emboldened by the two baby sweaters I just completed and now I’m making a sweater for myself. Not a whole sweater obviously, a vest doesn’t have sleeves.
The yarn is Caron Simply Soft in Autumn Red. The needles are 5 mm.

The pattern is Baby Sophisticate by Linden Heflin (ravelry link) and it was a really fast, easy knit. I think this was done in 4 days and I didn’t even knit one of those days. I love the collar! It’s made using short rows, which is super easy in garter stitch.

Her baby will be so handsome in this:

I’m done. That’s 3 days of knitting. Gotta love how fast baby sweaters knit up. So fast. And if you make them too big, you know they’ll fit eventually.

This is almost the last of the bulk bag of acrylic yarn from Walmart. So very soft and still machine washable. The pattern is Baby Blueberry Cardigan by Elizabeth Maine.

I’m making a cute little sweater for Deja again. It’s her birthday on the 8th and my little girl will be 3! She posed so happily for pictures today. The only thing is that it’s so hard to get her to hold still enough! So she’s a little blurry.

It’s the pattern Rolly by aoibheg. I’m using two different yarns I bought at Walmart in those bulk bags they have. A pink and blue twist and a glossy white. Both acrylic, of course.

I finished a big chunk of it while watching movies saturday night. I did change the hem to a picot edge instead of putting the coloured yarn at the bottom. The only thing is it curls up a bit. And I can’t block it because it’s acrylic yarn.

This is why I want to knit up all the yarn I already have so I can get the good stuff. Natural fibers! I’ll say, oh darn, I’m completely out of yarn honey! I need to go shopping!

I saw these gorgeous crocheted sweaters on etsy. They look raw and organic in design and that struck a chord with me.

So I’m doing something I don’t think I’ve ever done before. I just grabbed some yarn and started chaining. No pattern, just a general idea of how I want it to look. I have always used a pattern before. I might change a pattern to suit me, but I always start with a pattern.

I worked on it for about three days and this is the result:

That is acrylic yarn from a scarf I bought years ago. I reclaimed it because it’s so super soft. I started running out of yarn when I started the sleeves, so I unravelled the rest of the ball, attached the other yarn end to the other sleeve and did one row at a time on both sleeves. So both sleeves are the same length and I used up every scrap of yarn. This is all the yarn that’s left over:

And I’m using that bit to sew on the buttons. Thrifty!
